Nutrition education

The German philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach stated “We are what we eat”. Therefore, we should always choose the best foods for us. This is not only important for our overall health and physical fitness, but also, to prevent and overcome cancer, one of the leading causes of death worldwide.

Improper nutrition is the cause of about 35% of all cancers.

We live in a world in which the consumption of food is often excessive and of poor nutritional quality; two factors which can result in serious diseases.

NUTRITION COURSES FOR CANCER PATIENTS
Individual and/or group meetings to give information and suggestions about how food can help them after the surgery.

Nutrition education programs are proposed to cancer patients to prevent recurrences, taking in account their own illness, therapy and so any kind of disturbance showed up by each of them (such as nausea, blisters in the oral cavity, dysgeusia, dysphagia, malabsorption, loss of appetite) with the aim of avoiding the rising of a condition of malnutrition.

Several researches have shown that the nutritional status of the patient can affect greatly the efficacy of the therapy, but also his/her recovery from the disease.

The patient engagement in a nutritional program structured in individual and group meetings, based on nutrition, prevention and tastefulness, can be very useful to find the psychophysical wellness again.
